Looking to connect with the outdoors, enjoy a rustic experience with a touch of luxury? At Balmichael Glamping you’ll find the ideal glamping break. Accommodation has been designed to cater for every budget and group size – couples, families and large groups will find the perfect base to unwind and socialise.


We are taking every precaution and following all guidelines to ensure the safety of our guests. Social distance guidance will be conformed to during check in and throughout your stay. In advance of your arrival we will send a PDF Welcome Pack.

Once we have reviewed the full details of how our site can safely operate we will make these available to all guests.

The communal bothy with shared kitchen and dining space and hot tubs will not be available at this point. However you will find small outdoor kitchen/washing-up facilities at your private wash hut. We are also including microwaves in pods to assist with cooking. And maybe you'd like to hire our wood-fired pizza oven (complete with homemade pizza dough and tomato base - you just provide the toppings)!



Barrel Pods

Our barrel pods, named after famous Arran whiskies, are rustically charming yet cleverly designed for maximum use. Looking for a smaller, quaint and cosy cabin? Then this is the perfect choice for you. Our barrel pods sleep up to 4 people and are available all year.

Sleeping in barrel pods

These pods have a cabin style bed with a double mattress at the rear. A curtain ensures privacy from the front of the barrel, dividing into two sleeping areas. The two seating benches are transformed into single beds suitable for adults and children. A roll-out table is stowed under the cabin bed. Storage can be found under the benches, cabin bed and via a small rail and shelf system.

Accessed next to each barrel pod is a private wash hut comprising of a compost toilet, sink and shower. A small outdoor kitchen is attached complete with washing-up facilities. This is solely for your group's private use during your stay.

Heating is provided through an air fan system. The insulated design ensures a cosy, usable space all year round.




Dining in barrel pod

You’ll find your pod is equipped with bedding, kettle, toaster, microwave and Icey Tek cool box fridge and crockery. There are USB charging points and free WiFi access. Outside each pod is a picnic bench so you can enjoy alfresco dining with stunning views.

Complete your outdoor experience by cooking on your BBQ fire pit - or just use it as a cosy evening fire. Also available to hire is an outdoor pizza oven - we provide homemade dough balls and tomato sauce - you provide the topping.

We have one dog-friendly barrel pod, The Bodega. Two dogs may stay in The Bodega at an additional cost of £5 per dog per night. Note that space in the barrel pods is limited when all beds are in use. Please see our FAQ page for further information about our site and doggy rules.

We have three luxury canvas safari lodges, named after local glens, available from March to October. These canvas lodge tents with sturdy wooden supports offer flexible living space without compromising on style and comfort. They certainly put the 'glam' into glamping!!

Our grand lodge sleeps up to 10 and our two club lodges sleep up to 6. Comfortable beds and bedding is provided. Roll open the front of your canvas to enjoy a true outdoor-indoor experience from decking under a canopy. Our enchanting lodges all boast a wood-burning stove - perfect for cosying up at the end of a day! Each lodge also features its own functional indoor kitchen complete with kettle, toaster, induction hob, Icey-Tek cool box fridge, crockery and cold-water sink. Outside your tent, you have a BBQ fire pit and picnic table to help maximise your outdoor adventure.

To the rear of each tent is an en-suite wash hut which is divided into two rooms - one side with a compost toilet and wash sink; the other with a hot water shower. Your wash hut is exclusively for your group's use during your stay.

After some extra glam? Relax in a steamy, wood-fired hot tub overlooking spectacular views by hiring a hot tub for £30 a day. You will receive a bag of wood to get fired-up! Or opt to hire our wood-fired pizza oven complete with dough ball and sauce. A sure win for everyone!

We do not provide beds or bedding for infants. You are welcome to bring travel beds but please note space in bedrooms is limited. We do not charge for additional children.

We have one dog-friendly tent, Iorsa Lodge. A maximum of two dogs can stay at an additional cost of £5 per night per dog. Please see our FAQ page for further information about our site and doggy rules.



Rosa Lodge

Rosa Lodge

Our grand lodge sleeps up to 10 people over a split level. The ground floor consists of two double bedrooms and one bunk-bed room. Up a wooden staircase is a cosy mezzanine level with four single beds. A wood burning-stove provides warmth in the social spaces.




Clauchan Lodge and Iorsa Lodge

(sleep up to 6)

Sannox and Iorsa

These identical lodges offer a lovely open space for socialising. Each lodge comprises of two double bedrooms and a single room with bunk beds. This is the perfect area to spread out and have some privacy with the social space centrally located. The front of the lodge can roll up to connect the living area with the outdoor space, which is under a canopy.

Iorsa Lodge is our dog-friendly option!
